The existing Sichuan blockprinted edition of The Collection of Li Taibai’s Essays in the Song Dynasty consists of 37 volumes, which was mistaken to be carved and printed in the North Song Dynasty by most old and present bibliographers. This study made full investigations of the available editions of ancient classics in the traditional way based on the newlydiscovered documents and arrived at an accurate conclusion that the present blockprinted edition was made in the imperial title of Emperor of Gaozong of the South Song Dynasty and corrected several misstatements about the edition at the same time.
