Abstract:
The studies of The Book of Songs in the Han and the Song Dynasty differ in three ways, namely, academic views, view of the function of The Book of Songs and subject consciousness of scholars, which are internally interrelated. Of the three differences, the academic views are overt; the view of the function of The Book of Songs is the direct motivating factor; the subject consciousness is the very cause for the differences between the studies of The Book of Songs in the Han and the Song Dynasty. The scholar’s subject consciousness assumed the two distinct academic styles respectively in the Han Dynasty and the Song Dynasty by means of different views of function of The Book of Songs.
