Abstract:
In times of the Republic of China, more than twenty policies, laws and regulations were introduced to Buddhism and Taoism. As these religious laws and regulations were extremely disadvantageous to Buddhism, the Buddhist circle launched very fierce resistance, which led to the abolishment of many religious laws and regulations. The Buddhist resistance went through the whole course of Government’s formulating and implementing religious laws and regulations, playing an important role in the course and having enormous influence on Chinese history of religious legislation.
