Both parties emphasized their shared revolutionary heritage, intertwined historical legacies, and common spirit of innovation. They acknowledged their joint responsibility in carrying forward Chinese civilization, strengthening national unity, rallying public support, and disseminating truth, all in service of China’s great national rejuvenation. This strategic cooperation agreement serves as a new starting point for deeper collaboration, guided by Xi Jinping's cultural thought. Together, they aim to explore new models and paradigms for the integration of mainstream media and higher education.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will fully implement Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, leveraging their respective strengths to deepen the integration of industry, academia, and research. They will collaborate extensively in talent cultivation, think tank research, and academic development, contributing to the advancement of a world-class university with Chinese characteristics. Their joint efforts will also reinforce mainstream ideology and public discourse, serving the country’s major strategic needs.
First, they will uphold ideological leadership and build a stronghold for publicity, ideology, and culture. By leveraging their expertise, they will effectively articulate and promote President’s key thoughts, theories, directives, and initiatives. With a high degree of political and practical commitment, they will advance research and interpretation of CPC’s innovative theories, presenting their intellectual depth and truth with greater clarity and depth to strengthen mainstream values, discourse, and culture.
Second, they will focus on moral education and talent development, fostering a new generation of professionals in journalism and communication. The collaboration will enhance the sharing of high-quality educational resources, innovate ideological and political education models, establish joint student training bases, and develop a structured mechanism for graduate employment. By building a "university-media" cooperative talent training model, they will cultivate a politically steadfast, professionally skilled, and ethically exemplary workforce for China’s news and public communication sector, ensuring strong talent support for the Party’s ideological and cultural endeavors.
Third, they will strengthen international communication to share China’s story and amplify its voice on global stage. The two institutions will engage in high-level think tank exchanges and collaborative research while promoting an independent Chinese knowledge system. By integrating media and research resources from both sides, they will showcase the spiritual identity and cultural essence of Chinese civilization, introducing more cultural narratives that reflect China’s unique characteristics to the world, embody its spirit, and convey its wisdom. Through these efforts, they aim to "tell China's story with increasing brilliance and project China's voice with greater resonance."
From the beacon lights of Yan’an’s Qingliang Mountain to the digital waves of media convergence in the modern era, RUC and Xinhua News Agency have remained intrinsically connected throughout history. Looking ahead, they will work together to address the challenges of the times and shape the future, striving to set a model for university-media cooperation in the new era. Their shared commitment will contribute significantly to the advancement of Chinese modernization, the construction of a great power, and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
