Recently, Du Chuanming, associate professor of School of Metallurgy of Northeastern University, won the EPD/LMD Journal of Sustainable Metallurgy Best Paper Award at the 149th Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS) in San Diego, USA, becoming the first Chinese scholar to receive the award.
The EPD/LMD Journal of Sustainable Metallurgy Best Paper Award commends outstanding papers published in the Journal of Sustainable Metallurgy for their significant innovation, groundbreaking achievements and great value for industrial application. The research paper Effect of Fe2+ / T.Fe ratio on the dissolution behavior of P from steelmaking slag with high P2O5 content, of which Du Chuanming is the first author and corresponding author, introduces the mineral phase and the dissolution behavior and mechanism of phosphorus and iron in the dephosphorization steelmaking slag, providing a theoretical basis and technical support for efficient utilization of steelmaking slag, and promoting the green sustainable development of steel industry. This achievement has been widely praised and highly recognized by international experts, and has been selected as the EPD/LMD Journal of Sustainable Metallurgy Best Paper. (the only one for this year).
