The 2024 China-Belarus University Alliance General Assembly and the Establishment Conference of Alliance Cluster Mechanism were held at Dalian University of Technology on May 21 to 22. Vice President Lixin Tang attended the meeting, with relevant personnel from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation, and School of Medicine and Biomedical Information Engineering also in attendance.
During the meeting, Lixin Tang and school representatives held talks with the presidents of the Belarusian National Technical University and the Brest State Technical University. Both sides discussed practical inter-university exchanges and cooperation, including the 10th anniversary and development construction of the Confucius Institute, mutual visits and dispatch of teachers and students, and joint scientific research.
It is reported that the “China-Belarus University Alliance” was established in November 2023, consisting of 45 Chinese universities and 41 Belarusian universities. It aims to promote higher education exchanges and academic research cooperation between the two countries, continuously deepen the friendly and mutually supportive relationship between Chinese and Belarusian universities, and create a new model of international educational cooperation. This conference focuses on six major fields: digital technology, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, policy and management, dialogue of civilizations, and the development of Chinese-Belarusian languages and regional cooperation, establishing six Chinese-Belarusian university cooperation clusters. The school will rely on the platform of the China-Belarus University Alliance and use the Confucius Institute as a bridge to continuously strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of education, science and technology, and culture with Belarus.
