On December 4th and 5th, the 13th Confucius Institute Conference was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Zhang Guochen, deputy secretary of the school party committee, attended the meeting.
The theme of the conference is “Reform and Innovation for Development, Joining Hands to Create the Future”. The conference consists of 2 special forums, 8 presidents' forums and 20 workshops. More than 1,500 Chinese and foreign representatives from more than 150 countries and regions jointly contributed to the development and reform of the Confucius Institute, highlighting the characteristics of the Confucius Institute—“inclusiveness, innovation and richness”.
During the conference, Zhang Guochen met with HEORHI A. VIARSHYNA, the first vice president of the National Technical University of Belarus. The two sides reviewed the history of the friendly cooperation between the two universities and discussed the recent work of the Confucius Institute. The two sides believe that with the support of the Chinese and Belarusian governments and the joint efforts of both sides, the cooperation between the two universities will surely make more fruitful achievements.
