On October 10, the Third National University PE Teacher Teaching and Training Skills Showcase kicked off at South China University of Technology. Over the course of four days, 214 PE teachers from 103 universities across China gathered together. This event aimed to enhance the professional skills and teaching standards of PE teachers, providing a platform for communicating, learning, and showcasing. The competition covered various aspects, including teaching design, classroom teaching demonstrations, professional skills displays, and physical fitness, comprehensively assessing the teachers' overall capabilities. Three teachers from NEU participated, with Mingyan Ye winning the first place in the aerobics competition, Yuning Sun securing the third place in the middle-aged volleyball group, and Yiming Wang taking the third place in the youth volleyball group.
The Physical Education Department plans to take this achievement as a great opportunity to further promote the development of a high-quality, professional, and innovative PE teaching team. By fully integrating physical education into the overall talent cultivation process, the department aims to contribute to NEU’s mission of building a world-class university through the power of physical education.
