On October 15, the 2024 IMBA Indonesia Class of NEU held its opening ceremony in Room 824 of the main building. Distinguished guests attended the event including Muhammad Rizwi Jilanisaf Hisjam, Director of Human Resources Bereau at Indonesia's Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry; Qian Li , General Manager of the Human Resources Center at Huayou Cobalt Group headquarters; and Lixin Tang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Vice President of NEU. Representatives from Indonesia's Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, Huayou Cobalt Group, NEU’s School of International Education, School of Business Administration, International Cooperation and Exchange Department, Graduate School, and the 2024 IMBA Indonesia Class students were present.
During the ceremony, Vice President Lixin Tang extended his warm congratulations to the enrolled students of 2024 IMBA Indonesia class. He pointed out that the mission of IMBA Indonesia Program was to develop top-tier management talent. Futhermore, the program would strengthen the bonds of friendship and collaboration between China and Indonesia, thereby contributing to Indonesia's economic and social development.
Rizwi expressed his appreciation for NEU and Huayou Cobalt Group's strong support for the Indonesia Program in his remarks. He emphasized his hopes that the collaborative efforts of all parties would train a cohort of highly skilled management professionals who would play key roles in advancing Indonesia’s economic and social progress upon graduation.
Dean Zhongzhong Jiang of NEU’s School of Business Administration gave an overview of the MBA program of NEU and the IMBA program’s structure. He expressed his hope that all students would serve as important bridges for fostering friendly cooperation between China and Indonesia, driving collaboration between the two countries in science and education to reach a new high.
Li Ren, Party Secretary of the School of Business Administration, shared her high expectations for the students' academic journey and campus life. She encouraged them to fully utilize their talents, strive for excellence, and gain both knowledge and skills.
Landy, a representative of the Indonesian students, expressed his gratitude to the Indonesian government, Huayou Cobalt Group, and NEU for the valuable learning opportunity. He emphasized that they would stay true to their mission and responsibilities, cherish their time spent studying, work diligently, nurture innovation, and actively contribute to the development of their country and society.
During the ceremony, the attending guests presented NEU badges to all the students and handed out commemorative gifts.
