Wang Guodong, born in October 1942, is a professor at Northeastern University. He graduated from the former Northeast Institute of Technology in 1966, worked in the small factory of Angang from 1968 to 1978, studied for a master's degree at Beijing Iron and Steel Research Institute from 1978 to 1981, and taught at Northeastern University after graduation. From 1996 to 2004, he served as the director of the State Key Laboratory of Rolling and Automation of Northeastern University. He was elected to the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2005. He is currently the director of the Collaborative Innovation Center of Steel Technology, the executive deputy director and academic leader of the Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory of Rolling and Automation of Northeastern University, and an internationally renowned expert in the field of rolling technology.
