Recently, the Ministry of Education issued the notice of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council on Dynamically Adjusting the List of Degree Authorization Stations Revoked and Added in 2019, and Northeastern University was approved to add the Master’s degree authorization stations in first-class discipline of ethnology.
It is reported that in 2016, Northeastern University established the ethnology research institute of China Manchu Academy in Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao. Based on this, it integrates the ethnology research resources inside and outside the university, vigorously promotes the construction of Ethnology discipline, and forms a group led by well-known experts, with young and middle-aged teachers as the main body and reasonable structure, which has greater academic influence and strong professional strength in the field of Ethnology discipline. In recent years, the Ethnology discipline team of Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao has been approved with 87 scientific research projects at all levels and all kinds, including major national social science projects and National Social Science Fund's "Unique" Project, gained a total amount of scientific research funds of more than 5.1 million yuan, been awarded 8 provincial and ministerial scientific research awards, published 64 advanced academic papers and 23 high-level academic monographs and made remarkable achievements in academic research of ethnology and service for social development. The approval of the Master’s Degree Authorization Stations in First-class Discipline of Ethnology is conducive to the coordinated development of the multi disciplines and the improvement of the discipline structure of Northeastern University, the research of the theory of pluralistic integration of the Chinese people and the improvement of the ability to serve the economic and social development of ethnic areas.
