On May 4, People’s Daily published the List of Representative Winners of National Scholarship for Undergraduates and Junior College Students, showing the talent of 100 outstanding representative winners. Song Yang, an undergraduate of 2018 from NEU’s College of Sciences, is in the list.
NEU has been developing a sound, scientific and reasonable incentive evaluation system for undergraduates. It gives full play to the role of educational evaluation as a baton, strives to highlight the effectiveness of moral education, enhances the level of intellectual education, and strengthens physical training, aesthetic edification and labor education to guide students’ all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique, beauty and labor, so as to improve the quality of talent cultivation and facilitate the first-class university construction. In recent years, NEU undergraduates have been selected into the List of Representative Winners of National Scholarship for Undergraduates and Junior College Students published in the special edition of People's Daily for two consecutive years, and won the “Special Prize for Outstanding Students” of “Baosteel Education Award” for three consecutive years, demonstrating the effectiveness of education.
