Recently, the Baosteel Education Fund announced the "Winner List of the 2024 Baosteel Education Awards". A total of 12 teachers and students from the NEU won awards. Five professors, Lei Zhang from the School of Humanities and Law, Jianfeng Jia from the School of Business Administration, Chengjun Liu from the School of Metallurgy, Fei Wang from the Faculty of Robot Science and Engineering, and Lianjie Ma from the School of Control Engineering of the NEU at Qinhuangdao, won the "Baosteel Outstanding Teacher Award". Zirui Tang, an undergraduate student from the Software College, won the "Baosteel Outstanding Student Special Award" (A total of 25 students nationwide won this award, and Zirui Tang ranked first among undergraduates). Six students: Undergraduate Jiawen Kang from the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation, Undergraduate Buyun Shu from the College of Information Science and Engineering, Undergraduate Guocun Wang from the Faculty of Robot Science and Engineering, Undergraduate Fangyin Lu from the School of Resources and Materials of the NEU at Qinhuangdao, Doctoral Student Qi Sun from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and Doctoral Student Xiangyu Kong from the College of Information Science and Engineering, won the "Baosteel Outstanding Student Award".
It is reported that the Baosteel Education Award was established in 1990 and selected once a year among more than 120 colleges and universities across China. It is one of the most influential education awards in China, with colleges and universities actively participated in it, aiming to "reward outstanding talents, enhance respect for teachers and education, promote industry-university cooperation, and support the development of education". After more than six months of publicity, mobilization, application and evaluation, the Evaluation Committee of the Baosteel Education Awards reviewed and confirmed the 2024 winners. In total 500 students and 283 teachers won the Baosteel Education Awards in 2024.
