Nowadays, the 19th International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) World Congress is holding in Cape Town, South Africa.
Paper “Hybrid Intelligent Control for Optimal Operation of Shaft Furnace Roasting Process” written by Tianyou Chai, expert of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Jinliang Ding, who is also professor of Northeastern University, won 2011-2013 IFAC Control Engineering Practice (CEP) Best Paper Award, which is the first time that Chinese scholars won this prize independently.
Meanwhile, paper “An Intelligent Switching Control for the Intervals of Concentration and Flowrate of Underflow Slurry in a Mixed Separation Thickener”, of which the authors are Professor Tianyou Chai, PhD student Haibo Li, and Professor Hong Wang, won 2014 IFAC Congress Applications Paper Prize.
