A Project from NEU Approved by CNAF

Recently, the China National Arts Fund Management Center (CNAFMC) announced the CNAF List of Projects (General Projects) Founded in 2023. Reviewed by the Expert Committee and approved by the Board of Governors, the project Cultivation of Puppetry Performers in Western Liaoning applied by Professor Zhang Yannan and his team from the College of Arts of NEU has been accepted as an art talent cultivation project to be funded. This is NEU’s first research project in philosophy, humanities and social sciences to be funded with over one million yuan.

CNAF, established in December 2013 with the approval of the State Council, is a public welfare fund. It is aimed at prospering artistic creation, popularizing fine works, cultivating artistic talents and promoting the healthy development of national art undertakings. CNAF follows the principle of facing the society, being open and transparent, taking overall consideration, and highlighting key points. The projects it funds include general projects and major projects, with the funding ranging from artistic creation and production to communication and promotion, and talent cultivation. The funding methods cover project funding, awards for excellence and matching funding, and the projects funded play a leading, representative and exemplary role, reflecting the national artistic standards. This time, a total of 703 projects are selected nationwide to be funded by CNAF. Among them, there are 101 for art talent training, with three from Liaoning Province approved.
