Doctor of Science, Professor, Master Supervisor. From 1998, I have been working in College of Life and Environmental Sciences, Minzu University of China after I got a master degree on botany in 1998 in Central Normal University. 2003, I went to department of Chemistry and Chemistry Engineering, Niigata University, Japan to learn chemistry for a year as a visitor. I obtained a doctoral degree from Peking Union Medical College in 2011. My research focuses on the biosynthesis and synthetic biology of plant natural medicines, I have published over 30 academic papers including Nature Communications, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry and so on; and hosted 2 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Teaching

For undergraduate: Plant Biology, Plant Biology Experiment, Pharmaceutical Botany, Field Practice of Botany.

For master:Phytochemistry, Frontiers of Life Sciences.

Research Interests

Cell and tissue culture of medicinal plants

Biotransformation of natural products

Natural product research

Main research contents

1. Discovery and application of key enzymes in the biosynthesis pathway of natural medicines. Discovering key enzymes in the biosynthesis pathways of natural medicines from medicinal plants, such as glycosyltransferases, oxidases, and methyltransferases with good catalytic activity, laying the foundation for elucidating the metabolic pathways of plant natural medicines.

2. Analysis and artificial construction of biosynthetic pathways of plant natural medicines. Constructing and optimizing engineering bacteria for the production of plant natural medicines, achieving large-scale production of natural medicines, and providing a new method to solve the problem of shortage of natural medicines.

Hosted main research projects

1. 2024~2027, Project of National Natural Science Foundation of China: Study on the synthetic biology of bergenin, an active compound of traditional Chinese medicine (82373995).

2. 2016~2019, Project of National Natural Science Foundation of China: Functional characterization and biocatalytic application of quinochalcone C-glycosyltransferases from Carthamus tinctorius (81573317).
