报告题目:Phenomenology of Confining Dark Sector: Through a Dark Photon Portal

报告摘要
The concept of the dark sector has widely become very popular in recent years. The confining dark sector is one of the promising frameworks, which naturally provides the necessary ingredients for dark matter: the dark hadrons are dark matter candidates, and their masses are in the sub-GeV to GeV range. Moreover, in contrast to the conventional weakly interacting dark matter scenario, the dark hadron dark matter has a sizable (velocity-dependent) self-interaction, which would explain the small-scale structure of the Universe. A massive dark photon mixing with our photon is introduced as a low-energy portal interaction, which plays an important role in alleviating cosmological problems. Through the same dark photon, we can explore the dark sector in the terrestrial experiments and the astrophysical observations. The dark hadrons are produced via the dark photon at the accelerator experiments and leave the visible decay signals. The lightest dark baryon can be one of the dark matter candidates as an asymmetric dark matter. The dark baryon can decay into antineutrinos and dark mesons or dark photons through the portal interaction sharing particle-antiparticle asymmetries. Subsequent cascade decays of the dark mesons and the dark photons can also provide electromagnetic fluxes at late times in the Universe, which is strongly constrained by the astrophysical observations. In this talk, I will give a brief introduction of dark matter phenomenology, and then I will focus on searches for specific models based on the confining dark sector.
嘉宾简介
Takumi Kuwahara is a postdoctoral fellow at Peking University. He obtained his PhD degree in 2017 from Nagoya University. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at University of Tokyo in Japan and institute for basic science in South Korea before joining PKU in 2021. His main research interests focus on particle physics, in particular, physics beyond the standard model and dark matter phenomenology.
