Professor Annie Topping is a nurse scientist and educator specializing in improving care outcomes using qualitative and mixed methods designs. She is Professor of Nursing in partnership with University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust where she works with a team developing research workforce capability and capacity across the nursing, midwifery and allied professions workforce. Her current research is looking at improving outcomes in pancreatic cancer. Professor Topping has worked at various UK universities and held a number of executive roles in the UK Head of School of Nursing & Midwifery, University of Birmingham (2020-2023) and Middle East at Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar and Adjunct Professor at the University of Calgary-Qatar (2013- 2017). She is a member of a number of national committees and editorial board member of various journals including Journal of Research in Nursing, BMC Medical Education and Contemporary Nurse.
