Abstract:The emerging π-d conjugated coordination polymers (CCPs) have drawn growing attention in the past several years for various applications. However, till now, almost all of the reported CCPs are based on single kind of chelating atoms (e.g. N, S, O and Se) and only a few works have paid attention to the co-existence of hetero-chelating atoms in the ligands. Herein, two Ni-based CCPs with N and S as co-chelating atoms are proposed for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). The co-existence of N and S as the chelating atoms resulted in high electrical conductivity and high stability, leading to high capacity, excellent cyclability and high rate capability of the CCPs. The electrochemical performances are superior to all of the previously reported CCPs with only N or S as the chelating atoms for SIBs. These results enrich the CCPs, deepen our understanding on the chemical states of CCPs and would stimulate the further investigations of CCPs with hetero-chelating atoms for various applications.
