To all international students:
The Second Forest Arts Modern Dancing Festival is going to be held in HUST. HUST Art Educational Center will invite Professor Cao Chengyuan, honored as the Father of Chinese Modern Dance to give a lecture in HUST, and the center will invite the most esteemed Chinese dancing artists to give a performance during the festival. And now international students are wanted in the festival and it is a once-in-a-lifetime to study face-to-face with the top Chinese dancing artists. The time duration of the dancing festival is between April 24th and 27th.
The university is now recruiting 20 international student dancers to participate in this festival. The qualifications are as follows:
1、Be passionate of dancing and performing arts;
2、Have adequate time for dancing classes during April 24th and 27th;
3、Obey the rules of classroom management, and follow the professors’ instructions;
4、Both male and female dancers are wanted;
If you are interested and passionate about dancing and in love of performing arts, please contact Ms Vivian in International Student Office to join this festival. If you are a talented and hardworking dancer, you will be selected to be specially-trained by Chinese dancing artists, and be honored to perform on the same stage with the most distinguished dancing artists in China!!
Dr. Willy TSAO Sing Yuen：
Willy TSAO, respected as "Modern Dance Father of China", has been an influential figure as choreographer, educator, curator, manager and director in China’s modern dance development. Born and educated in Hong Kong, TSAO received his modern dance training in US and his MBA degree from the University of Hong Kong. He was named an Honorary Fellow in 2000 and received an Honorary Doctorate in 2015 from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
Mr. TSAO’s contribution to dance and the development of local arts has been widely recognized. He was awarded “Dancer of the Year Award” from the Hong Kong Artists’ Guild in 1988, “Ten Outstanding Young Persons” Award in 1990, "Badge of Honor” from HRH Queen Elizabeth II in 1993, "Louis Cartier Award of Excellence - Outstanding Choreographer” in 1998, “Bronze Bauhinia Star” by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 1999, "Dance Award of the Year - Outstanding Achievement Award" from the Hong Kong Dance Alliance in 2014.
