题目:Impact of n=1 field on the ELM induced non-axisymmetric magnetic perturbation in ASDEX-Upgrade

摘要:

The impact of externally applied n = 1 magnetic perturbation (MP) field on the phases of the non-axisymmetric magnetic perturbation, induced by the edge-localized modes (ELM), is observed in the ASDEX Upgrade tokamak. The phases of the ELM induced magnetic perturbations were locked to the applied n = 1 MP field, while the ELM also induced non-axisymmetric magnetic perturbations when no MP field was applied but their phases were random. This observation indicates that the role of MP field played during ELM crashes is more likely to be a locking process instead of an MP field penetration process in these plasmas. The toroidal asymmetry of edge AXUV radiation during ELM crashes is also observed to be affected by the n = 1 MP field. These results reveal the potential of using the MP field to control the phases of the non-axisymmetric structures, such as target heat flux distribution, during ELM crashes.
