Gao Liang, Professor, he received the B.S degree from Xi'an University of Electronic Science and technology in 1996, and Ph.D. from Huazhong University of science and technology (HUST) with in 2002. He is funded by the National Natural Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars of China, the first Tencent "scientific exploration Award". He is the vice director of State Key Laboratory of digital manufacturing equipment and technology, vice director of Vice Director of Research and Development Department of HUST.

He researches topics includes the intelligent manufacturing system, intelligent design, intelligent optimization methods and so on, and funded by more than 20 projects, including key projects of NSFC, 973 project, 863 project. He has published 7 books, including 2 English Monographs and 270 SCI papers. He has been cited more than 5000 times on web of science, and has published 2 ESI hot papers and more than 10 highly cited papers. He is the editor-in-chief of IET CIM, associate editors of SEC and JIPE. He served as vice director of Intelligent Simulation Optimization and Scheduling Committee of China Simulation Society, vice director of Production System Professional Group in Production Engineering Committee of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. 

He has received the award of May 4th Youth medal of Hubei Province, the award of Science, in 2011 and Technology Achievement Prize for Youth of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society in 2013, Second Prize for Natural Sciences of the Ministry of Education (rank 2) in 2015, First Prize for Natural Sciences of the Ministry of Education (rank 1) in 2013.
