Profile

Dr. Cao received the B.Eng. degree in electronics information in 2007 and the M.Eng. degree in electromagnetic field and microwave technology in 2009 from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China. He earned the Ph.D. degree in physics from the Institut d'Electronique Fondamentale, Université Paris Sud, France, in 2013. Since November 2019, he has been an associate professor at the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Electromagnetic Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. From June 2022 to June 2024, he has been a visiting scholar at the Physics Institute of Frankfurt University in Germany.


His current research interests include the temporal and spectral measurement of THz pulses emitted from the high-power FEL, as well as THz applications in spectroscopy, imaging, and sensing.


Undergraduate students majoring in opto-electronics, physics, electrical engineering, and electronics & communications are welcome to apply for master's supervision.
