Personal Profile
Liao Xiaofei, born in 1978, received his Doctoral degree in Engineering in Computer System and Architecture from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2005. Since then, he has been teaching at this university. He is now a professor and supervisor of doctoral candidates of the School of Computer Science and Technology, Dean of the School of Science and Technology Development, and director of the Technical Committee of Distributed Computing and Architecture of China Computer Federation. His academic interests include memory computing, runtime system, graph computing, etc. He has successively presided over projects supported by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation, the General Projects, and National Key R&D Program of China, the “863” Program, Fok Ying-Tong Education Foundation for Young Teachers in the Higher Education Institutions of China and other projects. Liao Xiaofei has received the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the National Natural Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and the 2017 CCF-IEEE CS Young Scientist Award. He has published a number of papers in MICRO, HPCA, ASPLOS, PACT, ACM HPDC, USENIX ATC, CGO, ICS, ACM MM, DATE, ICCD, ACM/IEEE ToN, IEEE TPDS/TC, ACM TACO and other important international academic conferences and journals. He has won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award, the second prize of the National Award for Science and Technology Progress once, the first prize of the Natural Science Award of MOE once, and the first prize of the Technology Invention Award of MOE twice. He has been the Chairman of the procedural committee or general Assembly of several international conferences. He has delivered keynote speeches at relevant forums of CCF, HPC China, and many international conferences. In the past five years, he has been engaged in the research and development of computer architecture software and large-scale graph computing system for heterogeneous memory computing. He has developed several prototypes such as multi-core/multi-core runtime system, heterogeneous memory system lightweight simulator and core system software, graph computing and graph analysis accelerator, etc. He has carried out in-depth technical cooperation with a number of industrial companies, and some prototype systems are open source (https://github.com/CGCL-codes/).
