Job Summary:Tenure track faculty position (full time) in Plant Stress Biology and Plant Secondary Metabolism Regulations. The successful candidate will join a 100-member faculty in the State Key Laboratory of Cotton Biology, Department of Biology, Institute of Plant Stress Biology, housed in State Key Laboratory of Cotton Biology building on the main campus of Henan University in Kaifeng, Henan.
Essential requirements:Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology, Secondary Metabolism, Chemistry/Biochemistry, Biology/Microbiology, Plant Cell Wall, Plant Phenylpropanoid/flavonoids or related field. A strong commitment to research and teaching in the area of botanicals with an emphasis on the chemistry/analysis and processing of phytochemicals as they relate to biological systems, plant stress adaptions and disease. Strong teaching, communication, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills. High potential for establishing an externally funded research program.
Duties and responsibilities:The successful candidate is expected to develop a nationally recognized research program focused on the role of phytochemicals in plant stress adaptions with an emphasis on the post-translational regulations of plant secondary compounds and their impact on plant physiology, immunity, and/or plant crosstalk with enviroments. Research necessarily needs to be underpinned by strong analytical expertise, multi-omic experiences and operations skills for large analytical equipment such as LC-MS and GC-MS. An interest in the role of phytochemicals at the interface of plant environment interactions is especially desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to secure external research funds, to advise graduate and undergraduate research students, to advance and disseminate knowledge, to teach undergraduate and/or graduate level courses, to function as an active member of the departmental and university faculty, and to engage in national and international professional activities. Appointment and Salary:Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
