On February 18, 2022, GZIST hosted a meeting mapping out the county- and township-level rural revitalization program for the “14th Five-Year Plan”. Liu Hongjun, Associate President of Guangdong Academy of Modern Social Evaluation Sciences and all members of the university’s four planning teams attended the meeting presided over by Vice President Zhang Shimei.
Associate President Liu Hongjun fully affirmed the great importance that GZIST attaches to accelerate the modernization of agriculture and rural areas, and abide by the guidance of the plan of rural revitalization. The planning of rural revitalization for Wengyuan County, Wengcheng Township, Xinjiang Township and Tielong Township is timely and significant.
The leaders of the four planning teams reported the progress of the planning for the above-mentioned one county and three townships from the aspects of basic data grooming, text framework writing, and research content collation. He Chaoxi, an expert from the provincial Academy of Modern Social Evaluation Sciences, analyzed the actual situation of Wengyuan County and the "14th Five-Year Plan" model of relevant provinces and cities and gave guidance on such key areas as chapter framework, content points and research arrangements of the rural revitalization plan for Wengyuan County.
Highlight of the meeting was the signing of an agreement between Guangdong Academy of Modern Social Evaluation Sciences and Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology on the Rural Revitalization Planning Research Project.
This is the first time that GZIST is comissioned to undertaken government’s 14th Five-Year Plan project for rural revitalization. Vice President Zhang Shimei thanked Guangdong Academy of Modern Social Evaluation Sciences for its strong support, and promised that the university would conduct research and ensure scientific, high-quality and efficient completion of planning work by conforming to its working requirements.
