On the 27 of November, 2008, the Vice Chancellor of our university, Zhu Yong, met Vice Chancellor Neil Armstrong and his delegation from the University of Exeter, England. Vice Chancellor Zhu Yong gave a summary to the delegation on the status of Sociology, Linguistics, Economics, Management and other subjects at our university. Vice Chancellor Neil Armstrong then talked about the status of academic subjects at the University of Exeter. He also expressed the desire to strengthen cooperation between the two universities. After the meeting, the Vice Chancellor represented our university in signing a memorandum of cooperation.
The delegation from The University of Exeter included: The Director of the International Department, Dr John Withrington and the Deputy Director of the International Department, Ms Mary McCrindle. Those who attended the meeting and the signing ceremony from our university were, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Sociology, Professor Ying Xing, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Linguistics, Professor Zhang Qing, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Law, Doctor Liu Fei and the Head of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange Li Guoqiang.
