Professor Liu Daqun, Judge of the International Criminal Court Residual Mechanism (MICT), came to our institute to deliver a course on “International Criminal Trials”

 

 

Judge Liu Daqun, a judge of the Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals (MICT) of the International Criminal Court, a former vice-president of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) of the United Nations, and a member of the Institut de droit international, delivered a course on "International Criminal Trials" at the Graduate School of China University of Political Science and Law from December 12, 2019 to December 20, 2019.

 

 The course consisted of eight lectures, including methods and skills of learning law, the history of the development of international law, general principles of international law, the International Criminal Court, genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and aggression. The professor gave a thorough and detailed explanation of relevant content of "International Criminal Trials" and made a profound analysis of the challenges facing "International Criminal Trials" and international law. During the course, students actively thought and participated in discussions of the problems, and the professor actively communicated with the students and helped them solve their doubts and confusions.
