Brief Introduction: 

The department was founded in 2002 and welcomed the first students in 2003. We are a young and promising department with twenty-one teachers (nineteen teachers with doctoral titles including five professors and eight associate professors) specializing in a wide range of fields.

We enrolls about 40 undergraduates annually.  Besides  regular courses of  Chinese language and literature, We also offer general education courses for students from other majors, which allows students to study many different topics of Chinese language and literature. We enjoy a good reputation because we trained numerous outstanding students.

We do not only focus on teaching but also concentrate on research. Our regular series of seminarsand other events encourage our teachers and students to do research which comprises innovative and influential projects supported by all kinds of funds, such as The National Social Science Fund of China, The State Education Ministry Research Foundation for Philosophy and Social Science, The Beijing Research Foundation for Philosophy and Social Science, and The National Postdoctoral Research Foundation. Over the years, we received acknowledgement in academia.

We are specialized in various fields, especially in Law and Literature as well as Law and Language. We offered outstanding courses in both areas, which are popular among students.
