CCL signs Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation with Houthoff Buruman Law Firm

The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between College of Comparative Law and Houthoff Buruman was signed on Xueyuanlu campus yesterday morning. The Chief Business Officer Mr. Jaap Bosman, Business Development Executive Ms. Zhong Li and representative from Embassy of the Netherlands in Beijing Mr. David Pho, Dean Gao Xiang, Secretary of the Party Branch & Associate Dean Wang Fang, Associate Dean Bao Zenghua, Associate Dean Lin Lin, Associate Dean Xie Libin and representatives of the students attended the signing ceremony.

As the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation signs, Houthoff Buruman establishes a scholarship within the College of Comparative Law with the name of "Houthoff Buruma scholarship for outstanding graduates of College of Comparative Law of China University of Political Science and Law". This scholarship funds 2 outstanding graduates from the college yearly, the amount is 3000RMB per person, the funding period is 3 years.

In order to further promote and understand of European law and Chinese law, Houthoff Buruma is going to donate books to the college. Also, the two parties will launch academic exchanges between their teaching staff and lawyers. Professional academic seminars, forums and other forms of knowledge exchange will also be co-organized by the college and Houthoff Buruma in the future.

Houthoff Buruma is one of the most internationalized law firms in Netherland as well as the official representative of the Netherland government. It has direct access to the world of international finance and all European institutions. The establisment of copperative relationship between the college and the firm will be beneficial for the students to get a better understanding in law of other countries, broadening their horizen and seeking more job opportunities.
