II. Requirements for Applicant

1.Non-Chinese

2.Physically and mentally healthy, good personal quality and doing well in study

3.Education background and age:

(1) Bachelor: senior high school graduated, no more than 25 years old;

(2) Master: with bachelor’s degree, no more than 35 years old;

(3) Doctor: with master’s degree, no more than 40 years old.

Teaching in English	TOEFL 68 or IELTS 5.5 Exemption of submitting English proficiency certificates: English-speaking country students.
One year Chinese study in advance can be provided for Chinese taught projects and the major study will be started after the language requirements are met.

 

III. Materials for Application

1. Online Application

Applicants can log in the Online Service System for International Students of CSUST：https://csust.17gz.org/ , and register an account and fill in online forms and submit the applications;

2. Academic certificate of highest degree in Chinese or English with notarization;

3. Transcript in Chinese or English with notarization;

4. First page of passport;

5. Certificate of No Criminal Record;

6. Certificate of language level;

7. Economic guarantee certificate;

8. Physical Examination Form for Foreigners (refer to the attachment for the blank form and filling instruction);

9. Study plan (required for postgraduate applicants, written in Chinese for majors taught in Chinese, written in English for majors taught in English, no less than 500 words);

10. Academic recommendation letter (required for postgraduate applicants, recommended by two experts at the associate professor level or above).

V. Charges (in RMB)

1. Tuition

Chinese language study: 16000 Yuan/year

Chinese taught bachelor: 7000 Yuan/year, English taught bachelor: 16500 Yuan/year

Master: 19000 Yuan/year

Doctor: 23500 Yuan/year

2. Registration Fee：500 Yuan/year

3. Accommodation：

Four-bed room: 1200 Yuan/year

Triple room: 4400 Yuan/year

Double room: 6000 Yuan/year

Application fee: expected admitted students are required to pay an application fee of 500 Yuan, which will be used as part of expenses after officially registering.

VI. Scholarship:

Conditional admission scholarships are offered to outstanding students. Students shall go through the procedures of the annual assessment, after which qualified students can obtain scholarship in the following academic year. A subsidy of no less than 500 Yuan per month will be provided for postgraduate students who have participated in the academic research activities of their supervisors (the specific amount depends on the degree of academic contribution).

 

VII. Application and Admission Procedure

Step 1: Online application 

Applicants shall log in to the online service system for international students of Changsha University of Science and Technology https://csust.17gz.org/, register an account, fill in the application online, and submit the application

Step 2: Materials review

After receiving application from students, we will review the their materials. Those who meet the requirements will pass the preliminary review.

Step 3: Academic review

The teaching college will conduct academic review for students who have passed the preliminary examination.

Step 4: Entrance exam

Applicants who have passed the academic review will take a unified entrance examination, which includes language and basic subject proficiency; the examination method will be a written test or an online interview.

Step 5: Admission

We will confirm the pre-admission list, apply for processing admission materials and issue them.

Remark:

1. The postage fee shall be borne by the applicant who needs postal service. Only applications by students are accepted.

2. According to the relevant regulations of the Chinese government, international students must purchase insurance as required. Those who fail to purchase insurance in accordance with the regulations will be disqualified from admission..

3. The specific time for admission registration is subject to the "Admission Notice". Those who fail to complete the admission procedures on time will be disqualified from admission.
