长期从事数据驱动的复杂系统数学统计建模研究,在传染病传播异质性领域开展深入研究,开发融合人群行为特征的传染病动力学新模型,定量评估及优化防控措施,为传染病传播机制理解及防控措施优化提供新认识、新方法。代表性成果发表于《自然-通讯》、《柳叶刀-星球健康》、《PNAS》、《柳叶刀-数字医疗》等,相关成果被应用于北京2022年冬奥会和冬残奥会保障,并得到了冬奥组织委员会的高度认可。
