2025 BIT Graduate Program for International Students

Duration of Study: 2 years for Master's programs; 4 years for Ph.D. programs

 

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must:

1.be non-Chinese citizens and in good health both mentally and physically, and will observe the Chinese laws and the regulations, and the rules and regulations of Beijing Institute of Technology.

2.be an academically excellent holder of a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent under the age of 35 when applying for a master’s program;

3.be an academically excellent holder of a master’s degree or its equivalent under the age of 40 when applying for a Ph.D. program;

4.hold an HSK certificate (minimum level 5 with a score of 180 or above) for Chinese-taught programs; for English-taught programs, a minimum score of 85 in TOEFL, an overall band of 6.0 in IELTS, or a score of 110 in the Duolingo English Test is required (native English speakers are exempt). Alternatively, other language certificates recognized by BIT may be provided.

5.have at least 1-year related working or internship experience for MBA program.

*3. The certified/notarized copy of highest degree’s diploma / certificate of schooling (in Chinese or English)

*4. The certified/notarized copy of highest academic transcript (undergraduate level and above, if any, in Chinese or English)

*5. Curriculum Vitae 

*6. Personal Statement & Study Plan

*7. Two recommendation letters by professors or associate professors

*8. Recommendation Form for International Student by BIT Advisors 

*9. Physical Examination Record for Foreigner (with the blood test report)

*10. Proof of Language Proficiency

11. Non-Criminal Record

12. Financial Guarantee Letter 

13. Other supporting documents


What Scholarship do we have?

1.Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC)

(1) University Program (Type B)

      Including High Level Postgraduate Program, Silk Road Program, etc.

What does the FULL scholarship cover?

      ① Tuition fees;

      ② Free university dormitory or accommodation subsidy;

      ③ Stipend: Master's students: CNY 3,000 /month;

                         Doctoral students: CNY 3,500/month;

      ④ Comprehensive medical insurance: CNY 800/person/year.

How to Apply?

① Register at https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn and upload required documents. (BIT's Agency Number: 10007; Type: B)

② Register at http://apply.isc.bit.edu.cn and upload required documents.


Application Period:  

       For scholarship applicants: October 15th, 2022 to April 15th, 2023 (Rolling admission)

      For self-funded applicants: October 15th, 2022 to June 15th, 2023

(2) Bilateral Program (Type A)

The program accords with the cooperation and exchange agreements or consensus reached by the Chinese government and the governments and institutions of other nations. 

An applicant shall file an application with the dispatching department of their home countries.

2.International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship

What does the scholarship cover?

     ① Tuition fees;

     ② Free university dormitory or accommodation subsidy;

     ③ Stipend: Master's students: CNY 3,000 /month;

     ④ Comprehensive medical insurance: CNY 800/person/year.

Who can apply?

①Non-Chinese citizens;

②should be friendly to China, have no criminal record, and abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and BIT rules and regulations;

③In good physical and mental health, and in good academic and behavioral standing;

④Interested in Chinese language education and related work;

⑤ Aged between 16 and 35 years on September 1, 2025. The maximum age limit for in-service Chinese teachers may be extended to 45.

Qualification

Enrollment starts in September 2025. This category provides a scholarship for 2 academic years. Applicants must possess a bachelor' s degree or its equivalent, a minimum score of 210 in HSK Test (Level 5), and a minimum score of 60 in HSKK Test (intermediate Level).
Applicant who is able to provide the employment agreement or certification upon completion of study from designated working institutions is preferred.

①Register at http://cis.chinese.cn and upload required documents (Provide a recommendation letter for Confucius institutes or HSK test centers and choose Beijing Institute of Technology as the receiving university).

②Register at http://apply.isc.bit.edu.cn and upload required documents.

Application Period:

March 1st -May 15th, 2025

3.Guangdong Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship

The Guangdong Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship is exclusively available to students applying for programs located at the Zhuhai Campus of Beijing Institute of Technology.

Scholarship Amount:

Master student: CNY 20,000/person

Ph.D student: CN 30,000/person

Application Procedure

①Download "Guangdong Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship Application Form” from https://isc.bit.edu.cn/resourcesoffices/resources/index.htm
②Register at /bit/smu_isc/smu_apply/ and upload required documents.

Application Period

October 15th, 2024 to February 15th, 2025 (For scholarship applicants, first round, recommended)  
February 16th, 2025 to April 15th, 2025 (For scholarship applicants, second round)  
October 15th, 2024 to June 15th, 2025 (For self-funded applicants)

Fees:  

Application fee: CNY 600/person  

Tuition: Master's: CNY 32,000/year (Chinese-taught)

                          CNY 36,000/year (English-taught)        

                          MBA: CNY 49,000/year (English-taught)

              Ph.D.: CNY 44,400/year

Accommodation fee: Zhongguancun campus: CNY 1,350/month(2 people shared room)  

                                                                            CNY 1,200/month(3 people shared room)  

                                                                            CNY 900/month(4 people shared room)  

                                     Liangxiang campus: CNY 900/month (2 people shared room)
