Introduction of the Pre-University Program

Pre-University Program of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) is a preparatory education for international students. The purpose is to help international students to meet the requirements of Beijing Institute of Technology undergraduate admission. Through the study and consolidation of language and basic subjects in 1-2 semester. The main courses include Chinese, Mathematics, Physics, Chinese History and Culture, Chinese cultural inheritance and scientific innovation, Intercultural Communication and Team Management, etc. and also provide HSK pre-examination training for students. Students participating in this program and pass all examinations can enter BIT undergraduate program directly.Pre-university program can be taught in Chinese/English, and students can choose to study for one academic year (starting in September) or one semester (starting in March).
※This program will be conducted at the Zhuhai campus.


Curriculum

Science & Engineering Program includes Mathematics, Physics, Chinese for Science and Technology, Intercultural Communication and Advanced Chinese Reading & Writing and other Chinese language courses.

Liberal Arts/Business Program includes Mathematics, Comprehensive Chinese, Intercultural Communication, Approaches to Chinese Poetry, Advanced Chinese Reading & Writing and other Chinese language courses.

Chinese Language Program includes Chinese Listening, Reading Comprehension, Comprehensive Chinese Reading & Writing, Chinese Speaking and Chinese Writing, etc.


Eligibility

1. Non-Chinese citizen with valid foreign passport;

2. Aged 24 or below;

3. Graduates of senior high school (or above);

4. In good physical and mental health.


Application Materials (* is required):

*1. Photo copy of passport (Photo page and China visa page)

*2. ID photo with white background

*3. Highest degree certificate

*4. High school transcript

*5.The Valid Report of Chinese or English Language Proficiency Tests. (For Chinese Medium: HSK4 is needed for one-semester program , HSK3 is needed for one-year program. For English Medium: IELTS≥6.0 or TOEFL≥85 or other language certificate recognized by BIT. English native speakers are exempted)

*6. Personal statement (download BIT International Student Personal Statement template, upload it in the application system after filling out)

7. Applications under 18 must upload all materials required in Application Materials for Student under 18

8. Physical Examination Record for Foreigner (please go to hospital for a physical examination as required in Physical Examination Record for Foreigner  and upload it in the application system)

9. Financial Guarantee Letter (The certificate of bank saving)

10. Non-criminal Record (Issued by the local police station)

Application Procedures

l Fill in the application form online, and choose the application program based on the teaching language and subject selection

l Upload application materials

l Pay the application fee online after passing application review  

l Online interview

l Pay tuition and get admitted

One semester: January 15, 2024

One year:June 15, 2024

Application fee: CNY 500

Tuition:

Science & Engineering Program AND Liberal Arts/Business Program
CNY 15,000/semester  CNY 30,000/year
Chinese Language Program
CNY 10,000/semester  CNY 20,000/year

Accommodation:

Zhuhai campus:
CNY 900/2 people shared room/month
CNY 700/3 people shared room/month
CNY 500/4 people shared room/month

Insurance fee: CNY 800/year  CNY 400/semester

Visa fee: CNY 400/year

NOTE:

The minimum class size of the program is 15 students. Less than 15 students, the class will be cancelled.

Beijing Institute of technology reserves the right of final interpretation of all the policies related to pre-university program.
