On the afternoon of May 15, 2017, the State Key Laboratory of Explosive Science and Technology held a welcome meeting, Professor Jun Hu, Minister of Science and Technology Institute of Beijing Institute of Technology, and Professor Fenglei Huang, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory of Explosive Science and Technology. Prof. Pengwan Chen, Dean of the School of Mechatronical Engineering, Wei Wang Party Secretary, Prof. Bo Wang, Executive Deputy Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering, Prof. Shuqin Li, Associate Dean of the School of Materials, and other Director of the Laboratory, Deputy Director, Director of the Research Department, and key member attending the meeting, the meeting was chaired by Prof. Pengwan Chen.
Prof. Cheng Wang, the director of the key laboratory, first introduced the situation of the preparation work for the laboratory, combined with the evaluation rules of the national key laboratory, including the laboratory orientation and research direction, team building and personnel training, scientific research projects, scientific research achievements, domestic and foreign academics. Reports were given to the participating scholars on topics such as exchanges, autonomy and open topics, experimental platforms, and base construction. They also compared and analyzed the status of talent teams, awards, and other national key laboratories in the national engineering field, and proposed the next step for the laboratory.
The participants held a lively discussion around the work report and believed that the laboratory has made remarkable progress in personnel training, team building, scientific research, academic exchanges at home and abroad, open cooperation and laboratory capacity building in recent years, in order to welcome key experiments. The evaluation laid a solid foundation. At the same time, it analyzed the problems that the laboratory may encounter during the new round of evaluation work and put forward valuable suggestions.
Finally, Minister Jun Hu emphasized that the laboratories should plan ahead based on their own advantages and characteristics in terms of research direction, platform, and team building, and strive for greater development opportunities; they must further consolidate landmark results, highlight their level and influence, and welcome to key laboratory assessments and make full preparations.
